Terms of Service

1. The Service

FileFormatFixer (the Service) is a digital micro-utility that resizes, compresses, and cleans photos and PDFs so they meet the technical requirements of upload portals, such as immigration and court e-filing systems. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. Not legal advice and not affiliated

FileFormatFixer is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by USCIS, the U.S. Department of State, any court, or any other agency. Nothing on the Service is legal advice.

The Service changes technical properties of a file only, such as pixel dimensions, file size, format, page size, and metadata. It does not review the content, composition, completeness, or legal sufficiency of what you upload. Portal requirements change. You are responsible for confirming the current requirements with the agency or court and for what you submit. Please leave enough time before any deadline.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Your files

• You keep all rights to your files. We claim no ownership of them.
• You give us permission to process your files only as needed to provide the Service to you. Files are processed in your browser where possible, and we do not keep them. See our Privacy Policy.
• You confirm that you have the right to use and process each file you provide.
• Files larger than 20 MB cannot be processed.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to falsify, forge, or misrepresent any photo or document, or to deceive any agency, court, or other person.
• Upload content that is unlawful or that you do not have the right to use.
• Interfere with or overload the Service, attempt to bypass its limits, or access it by automated means in a way that harms other users.
• Copy, resell, or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it.

6. Fees and payment

Where a fee applies, the price is shown before you pay. It is currently US$2.99 per fixed file. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we do not store your card details. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which includes a 100% money-back guarantee for files that do not meet the official guidelines they were made for.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, including its tools and presets, at any time.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that any agency, court, or portal will accept a file produced by the Service. Our Refund Policy describes the remedy that applies if a file does not meet the official guidelines it was made for.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, FileFormatFixer and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, missed deadlines, rejected or late filings, or immigration or court outcomes, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific file that gave rise to the claim. Some places do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the Service after an update, you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator of the Service is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
